In a scene reminiscent of the children's classic "Make Way for Ducklings," traffic came to standstill on Union Avenue shortly before 2 p.m. Wednesday afternoon when 11 baby ducks fell through a storm drain near Barton's Motel. Animal Control Officer Ken Smith rushed to the scene and, under the eyes of anxious motorists and bystanders, carefully plucked each of the ducklings from the drain. The ducklings were soon reunited with their mother, none the worse for their mishap thanks to the efforts of Animal Control Officer Smith.
