LACONIA — A third person thought to be involved in a brazen bank robbery in Manchester last week was arrested without incident in a Laconia apartment early Saturday morning.

Manchester Police confirmed yesterday that Prince Sage, 27, of 6 B Dewey St. was the third person and second male police believe entered the Northeast Credit Union (Wilson Street branch) and robbed it a gun point on December 19.

According to the Associated Press, one man held the customers at bay with a gun while a second man hopped over the teller counter and stole money from both the safe and the teller drawers.

Last week, police from Laconia, Manchester, Tilton, the FBI and with some limited backup assistance from the Belknap County Special Operation Group arrested Gilford resident Shyloe Johnson and Manchester resident Walter Williams during a raid that took place shortly after midnight at the Landmark Inn in downtown Laconia.

Police have charged Johnson with being an accomplice to robbery and both William and Sage are facing one count each of robbery. Police explained that there is no separate statute for armed robbery in New Hampshire, but if convicted of a robbery where a weapon is shown or implied then the armed portion would be reflected in the sentence.

Laconia Police said Manchester Police issued a warrant for Sage on Saturday morning, giving the LPD his address and cautioning that he may be armed and dangerous.

City police said they went to the Dewey Street apartment Saturday morning around 9 a.m. and were able to take Sage into custody without incident. He was turned over to the Manchester Police who confirmed last night that he was being held in the Valley Street Jail in Manchester on $100,000 cash or corporate surety bond and was scheduled to face a Hillsborough County Judge this morning.

Manchester Police said last night there is a good chance the federal government, which has technical jurisdiction over all bank robberies, may step in a charge the three at the federal level.
