Students in a homeschool group painted paper butterflies to contribute to a community art project during National Library Week at Gilford Public Library on Thursday afternoon. The students then flew kites with custom-drawn designs in the parking lot, enjoying the warm spring weather of 50 degrees. The art project is part of a celebration of the community and the library, aimed at involving people who don't normally engage with the library. The butterflies will be combined into one large art piece, and showcased at the library in the next few weeks.
