GILFORD — Police arrested a 28-year-old Laconia man late Wednesday night who was allegedly driving a 2002 Dodge Caravan that had been reported stolen in Laconia.
Lt. James Leach said police responded to a report of an intoxicated man in the Walmart parking and later found Tyler Bissette, 28, of 60 Pearl St. on Intervale Road in front of the High Spirits Childcare Center.
Police said he was "actively loading items from...High Spirits Childcare into the vehicle."
Bissette initially gave police a false name but was identified by them.
He is charged with one felony count of receiving stolen property for possession of the car, theft for allegedly stealing things from the child care center, operating after suspension - second offense, driving while intoxicated – second offense, and disobeying a police officer.
He was released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear in the 4th Circuit Court Laconia Division on October 18.
