Fitzgerald Dodge became Lakeview Dodge last week when Andi White and Robert McDevitt, both of Unity, New Hampshire, purchased the dealership on Union Avenue from Dan Fitzgerald.

Fitzgerald will continue to operate Fitzgerald Motorsports, just up the road on the other side of Union Ave.

White, who has worked in the automobile business since 1977, said that she would be the most visible of the two partners, running the firm day in and day out.

"I've worked in dealerships," White said, "but this is the first I've owned and operated." She said she knew of "a few" women who were principals in car dealerships, "but not very many."

"I was looking to acquire a dealership and I've had lots of experience with Chrysler and Dodge," White said, explaining the considerations that drew her from Unity, near Claremont, to Laconia. "Dodge is the hottest product line," she said, "with everything for everybody." She said the dealership has been distinguished by its aggressive sales of Dodge Vipers, the low-slung muscle car with the V-12 engine. "We intend to continue with Viper sales, along with the full range of cars, vans and trucks," White said. "We're looking to serve everyone's needs and treat everybody right."
