About 200 people came out to watch "The Garfield Movie" at Waterfront Park in Tilton on Friday evening for Movies in the Park, put on by Hall Memorial Library, the Raven Gael Blaisdell Foundation, and the Tilton Police Department. In addition to providing an activity for the whole family to enjoy, the event aims to use the movie to entice kids to read, and offered a selection of 17 free books for children to take home. Kids also received tickets to enter a free raffle for a Garfield plush toy. Any child aged 5 through 16 who signed up for their first library card could pick a $10 gift card to McDonald’s, Walmart, Dunkin' or Dairy Queen. Sponsors included Planet Honda, Crystal Geyser which donated water bottles, Domino’s in Franklin and Tilton House of Pizza which both donated pizza, Franklin Savings Bank, Walmart in Tilton, and McDonald’s in Tilton, which donated pies and cookies, as well as the Tilton Public Works Department.
