BELMONT — A chimney fire on Wednesday night damaged a barn before being extinguished by firefighters.

According to a report from the Fire Department, a building fire was reported at 300 Hurricane Road at 10:26 p.m. Arriving crews discovered a fire in a barn, which they brought under control within about 30 minutes and then turned their efforts toward the chimney fire. All companies cleared the scene at 11:40 p.m.

No injuries were reported as a result of the fire. Laconia firefighters assisted in the effort. Damage from the fire was estimated to be about $10,000.
