By the end of the week all property owners will receive a letter from the assessor's office notifying them of their property assessments as of April 1, 2004.

The values represent the annual "rolling" adjustment to property values based on the analysis of sales of property throughout the city. Between April 1, 2003 and April 1, 2004 there were 638 sales, all of which were analyzed by Vision Appraisal Technology.

Taxpayers who wish to discuss their assessment can call Vision Appraisal Technology at (888) 844-4300 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on October 21, 22 or 25 to arrange for an appointment with one of their representatives. Appointments will be scheduled on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, October 26-28, and, if necessary, Friday, October 29.

The 2004 property assessment lists and sales analysis books will be available at the seven locations around the city listed in the Assessor's letter for about two weeks. Taxpayers can also obtain information about the assessment on-line at: visionappraisal.com.

City officials expect the 2004 tax rate to be set early next month.
