The grand reopening of the Leavitt Park Playground was held in Lakeport on Monday afternoon. The playground has a new ground covering of mostly wood mulch, and also has several elements accessible by people who use mobility devices such as wheelchairs. The playground renovation cost over $300,000 in total and the deconstruction and reconstruction of the playground took about two months. Ward 5 City Councilor Steven Bogert, Finance Director Glenn Smith, Director of Recreation & Facilities Amy Lovisek, Fire Chief Tim Joubert, and City Manager Kirk Beattie attended the reopening ceremony.
