BELMONT – A Massachusetts leasing company has filed a site plan request with the Planning Board to tear down the former Profile Subaru building at 95 Daniel Webster Highway (Rte. 3) and replace it with two new retail commercial ones. The Belknap Mall is located directly across the highway.
Town Planner Candace Daigle said yesterday that one of the proposed buildings will be 13,000-square-feet and will house a Goodwill Industries store and an 8,400-square-foot building will house a Dollar Tree.
Water Street Retail, LLC of Andover, Mass also proposed 90 parking spaces and the development will be served by town water.
The company is proposing as two-to-four foot high retaining wall along the Right 3 right of way however the existing easements will not be disturbed.
To build Goodwill Building, the company plans on cutting into the existing slope with a 10-foot site across access between the building and bottom of the slope face.
Right now there is a vacant commercial building and a parking lot on the site.
The property is owned by Dan Fitzgerald.
Water Street Retail is slated to appear before the Application Review Committee and then at the July 28 Planning Board meeting for a site plan review.
