St. Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center hosted a birthday party for 103-year-old Helen Peavey in Laconia on Monday morning. Residents came to celebrate, and a half chocolate, half vanilla cake was served, along with lemonade. The room was filled with yellow decorations: Peavey’s favorite color. Her daughter Pat Moody, 77, niece Camille Kimball, 76, and granddaughter Tina Kelly, 55, all came to celebrate. The family said her secret to a long life was that she loved vegetables and taking vitamins. John Gauthier, another St. Francis resident, turned 104 on Sunday, making Peavey only the second oldest resident by a year and one day.

Editor's note: This photoset has been updated to correct the spelling of Helen Peavey's name.
