LACONIA — The late Rep. Charlie St. Clair (D-Laconia) will appear on the Democratic ballot in Belknap County District 5, following his death Aug. 22.

City Clerk Katie Gargano said St. Clair’s name will still appear on the ballot. Gargano spoke with Secretary of State David Scanlon, who said the ballots had already been printed, and St. Clair’s name is included.

If he were to win a seat in the Statehouse, the appointment would go to the next candidate with the most votes, Democrat or Republican.
