Pappas to visit Laconia Saturday on Grounded in Granite tour

LACONIA — Congressman Chris Pappas (D-NH-01) will visit Laconia on Saturday, March 22, as part of his “Grounded in Granite” tour of all 10 counties in New Hampshire. 

Pappas will appear at Belknap County Democratic Committee headquarters, 376 Union Ave., at 2 p.m. on Saturday. 

The tour, announced on Wednesday, will see the congressman visit all of the state's 10 counties over just five days. He’ll “listen and learn” from residents as he considers entering the race for United States Senate. 

U.S. Sen. Jean Shaheen (D-NH) on March 12 shared her intention not to seek reelection to the Senate in 2026. 

“My work is grounded in the people, places, and values of our great state, and I’ll never stop fighting for New Hampshire’s working families, communities, and small businesses,” Pappas wrote in a press release. “Sen. Shaheen dedicated her career to putting New Hampshire first, which is the type of leadership our state deserves in the years ahead. I have been overwhelmed by the encouragement I've received to consider running for the U.S. Senate at this pivotal moment for our country and democracy. In the coming weeks, I’ll keep doing what I’ve always done: listen to the voices and experiences of Granite Staters to learn how I can best be of service and make a difference. There is so much work to do to lower costs for families, ensure our communities are safe, and push back against the reckless and lawless actions coming from the administration in Washington. I’m eager to keep up the fight."
