SANBORNTON — A shooting Monday night left one person wounded, according to State Police. State and local law enforcement are investigating the incident.
The victim is expected to survive, State Police say. The victim's name is being withheld pending the ongoing investigation.
Troopers assigned to the State Police Major Crimes Unit and Troop E barracks and members of the Sanbornton Police Department responded to 502 Stage Road at 11:33 p.m. on July 7, according to a State Police release. Police Chief Steve Hankard requested assistance from State Police with a shooting investigation.
Investigators at the scene determined one person was shot multiple times and transported to Concord Hospital-Franklin, then transported by a medical helicopter to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon for treatment.
As of Thursday, State Police believe all parties involved in the ordeal are identified and are cooperating. There’s no known threat or danger to the public in connection with the shooting.
Members of the major crimes unit have discussed the investigation with the Belknap County Attorney’s Office and no charges have been filed as of Thursday morning.
