BOW — A Sanbornton man was arrested on drunken driving changes after he drove the wrong way on Interstate 89 and struck another vehicle, State Police reported.

Aaron McDonald, 44, of Sanbornton, was arrested on a charge of aggravated DWI.

According to State Police, McDonald was driving south in the northbound lane of I-89 between Exits 1 and 2 a.m. at about 4:30 a.m. last Saturday. Shortly after receiving the call, police were notified of a motor vehicle crash which they said was caused by McDonald. No injuries were reported, police said.

McDonald was released on personal recognizance bail pending a court appearance on Jan. 10.

Bow Police, Bow Fire and Rescue and Concord Fire and Rescue assisted State Police at the scene.

State Police requested anyone who may have information regarding this incident, to call State Police Sgt. Irwin Malilay at 603-223-8306.
