GILFORD — One person is in custody after a shooting Friday night that left one person dead.

Brian Horvath, 45, of Timber Lane, was charged with two felonies, manslaughter and reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, following the shooting, which took place at his residence, according to a press statement from Capt. Dustin Parent.

Police responded to a 911 call reporting someone with a gunshot wound to the chest on Timber Lane around 9:46 p.m. on Sept. 6. When officers arrived, they discovered one male was deceased. The victim has not been identified by police.

Originally brought in for questioning, Horvath is now facing charges, which include a special felony for manslaughter, according to the press statement.

Where this is an ongoing investigation will the name of the deceased individual involved be made public when they're officially identified and the family has been notified?
