CONCORD — A Massachusetts resident was sentenced Wednesday in federal court for drug trafficking in New Hampshire’s Lakes Region, according to U.S. Attorney Erin Creegan.
Christopher Davis, 54, of Haverhill, was sentenced to 10 years in prison, plus four years of supervised release, by U.S. District Judge Steven McAuliffe. He previously pleaded guilty to distributing a controlled substance — methamphetamine — in October, after selling the drug during a sting.
That was apparently Davis’ third felony conviction for distributing controlled substances in the Lakes Region.
“The defendant has persistently and brazenly distributed drugs throughout the Lakes Region across multiple decades,” Creegan wrote in a media release. “We will continue to pursue individuals and organizations who profit from the trafficking of methamphetamine and other dangerous substances in our state.”
The Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Major Offender Task Force led the investigation. The Laconia Police Department, State Police and the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Drug Task Force provided assistance. Assistant U.S. Attorney Matthew Vicinanzo prosecuted the case.
“Christopher Davis is a repeat offender, committed to selling methamphetamine and making money,” Ted E. Docks, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Boston Division, wrote in the release. “Today’s sentence shows how the FBI’s Major Offender Task Force is just as committed to getting illegal drugs and the career criminals who peddle them off the streets. We’re working hard every day to make the Granite State safer by removing those who have no regard for the incredible damage they’re inflicting on people’s lives.”
