Ryan Leclair is the city’s newest police officer. Leclair grew up in Westminster, Massachusetts, and is a recent graduate of the Massachusetts Maritime Academy, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management. He made the dean’s list twice and was named Cadet of the Semester and Cadet of the Year during his tenure there. City Clerk Katie Gargano administered his swearing-in on Wednesday at City Hall before the Laconia Police Commission. “He is well qualified and will be a welcome addition to the city's police force,” Police Chief Matt Canfield wrote in a media release.
