PLYMOUTH — The Plymouth Fire Department responded to a call of smoke in the building at 6 High St., Grafton Hall, a dormitory for Plymouth State University, on Nov. 10, at 1:38 p.m. Firefighters arrived to see students evacuating, with fire visible in a third-floor window, according to a written statement released by the department.Â
Firefighters entering the building found a desk on fire. The fire was extinguished and the smoke mitigated without incident. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is believed to be accidental, according to the release.
Plymouth Fire Department was assisted by the Ashland Fire Department, Plymouth Police Department, Plymouth State University Police, and facility staff from Plymouth State University.
