First responders from Gilford were treated to a made-with-love meal at the fire station on Wednesday, courtesy of Lakes Region BBQ. The food truck owners, David and Janice Malone, believe in the importance of giving back to the community’s fiercest protectors, saying, “We show our love through food. It’s our love language.” The gingham-covered folding table full of food included pulled pork sliders, smoked kielbasa, Dave’s Famous Baked Beans, a cutting station for smoked ribs, coleslaw, fruit salad, smoked honey cornbread, summer pasta salad and smoked mini blueberry muffins for dessert. A beverage station with iced tea and lemonade was also available. The food truck opened for business on Aug. 1.
