When America’s Got Talent returns on June 2, viewers will be treated to some mind-blowing auditions, including one from Luke Taleno. The musical artist confirmed on Instagram that his audition will be airing during the premiere episode.

While this will be Luke’s big break, he has been working on his craft since he was just 13 years old. We’re going to learn much more about him amid his time on America’s Got Talent, but for now, TV Insider rounded up everything we know so far. Scroll down for more.

Who is Luke Taleno?

Luke, whose real name is Luis Rojas, is an aspiring rap artist. He is a freestyle rapper who performs on the streets of South Beach, Florida.

In addition to rapping, Luke is also a digital content creator and posts videos of his rapping on social media. He often goes live on TikTok, as well. On Instagram, Luke has 23,000 followers, and on TikTok he has more than 50,000.

Where is Luke Taleno from?

Luke is a proud native of Hialeah, Florida. Hialeah is in southeast Florida and located just west of Miami, near the Miami International Airport.

What was Luke Taleno diagnosed with?

In 2011, when Luke was a teenager, he was diagnosed with cancer, specifically acute lymphoblastic leukemia. He underwent chemotherapy and other aggressive treatments, per the Miami New Times.

During his treatment, he got to meet Pitbull, who was in Miami visiting sick children. This sparked Luke’s passion to become a rapper. After getting the opportunity to work with the Make-a-Wish Foundation, he wished to make music, and a studio was built in his family’s two-bedroom home.

Luke began recording music from the studio, then beat cancer and was eventually able to return to school.

Is Luke Taleno married?

It is reported that Luke is married and has a son named Lucas.
