Wheel of Fortune fans think the game show should change an odd background detail. Some Reddit users think it resembles a horrible historical event at first glance.

For the week of November 17 to November 21, the theme of Wheel of Fortune is “Now Boarding.” The set is supposed to look like an airport and an airplane. Behind the contestants is a screen with the inside of an airplane and windows with clouds and the sky outside of them.

Curt Ostrow, from Deptford, New Jersey, played against Melissa Jean, from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Dalia Ramirez, from Claremont, California, on November 17. Ostrow failed to win a car, but took home $14,916. But that’s not what the fans were focused on.

However, during the toss-up rounds, the screens of the contestants get really small, and the pictures look a bit different. “Background?? Am I trippin or did the background look like the morning of 9/11/2001??” a Reddit user asked.

With the contestants in the tiny squares under the board, the background behind them looked like a side of a building with smoke coming out of it. Fans thought this resembled the Twin Towers in New York City when the terrorists flew a plane through them on September 11, 2001.

“OMG!! Me too,” another said.

“Not the category being ‘Living Thing,'” said another.

“I thought it was me! I was thinking the same thing. The perspective is strange,” a third added.

“Yeeeaah… It was supposed to be a cute background with airplane windows & clouds, but they really shouldn’t have put the clouds in front of the windows, or made the windows 10x their normal size, or spaced the window panels with gaps in between them… 😬 Definitely looks bad unless fully zoomed out,” another wrote.

“I thought it was just me. My wife didn’t get the same feeling. Glad to see others had the same initial impression,” a Reddit user commented.

Do you think the background resembled that? Should the camera angle have been changed? Let us know in the comments.
