Spring is here, which means it’s finally that time of year when networks start making renewal decisions about their slate of shows, especially for new titles like CBS‘s DMV.
The freshman comedy following the day-to-day shenanigans of the East Hollywood DMV team debuted in the fall and continues on as Season 1 plays out, but will it be back for Season 2? Below, we’re breaking down everything we know about the show’s future as the fate of the series has finally been unveiled.
Has DMV been renewed for Season 2?
DMV hasn’t been renewed for Season 2. Sadly, the CBS comedy has been canceled. The news broke at the same time the network unveiled its drama series, Watson wouldn’t return for Season 3.
When would DMV Season 2 have premiered?
While DMV Season 2 is not happening after CBS canceled the comedy. Had the show carried on to a second season, one potential path was for the comedy to return in the fall, where it kicked off its journey in late 2025. The other possible option was for the series to move its lineup to midseason, meaning a winter or spring premiere in 2027. Without the show being renewed for Season 2, we know DMV won’t be back on air at all.

What would DMV Season 2 have been about?
Fans won’t know what would have happened in Season 2 of DMV as the series won’t continue on, but it would have likely continued the workplace comedy format as the workers get wrapped up in new shenanigans week to week.
Who would have starred in DMV Season 2?
DMV‘s current cast features Harriet Dyer as Colette, Tim Meadows as Gregg, Molly Kearney as Barb, Tony Cavalero as Vic, Alex Tarrant as Noa, and Gigi Zumbado as Ceci. Guest stars have included Randall Park, Leslie Jones, and The Paper‘s Chelsea Frei, among others. Had the show returned for Season 2, we would have anticipated most, if not all, of the main cast of regulars to return.
