GILFORD — Victor J. DeNauw, Jr.., of New Smyrna Beach, Fla. and formerly of Gilford, passed away November 28, 2009 on bone cancer. He was born in Manchester, N.H. on August 19, 1927 to Victor and Claire (Thibodeau) DeNauw.

He served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He resided most of his life in Gilford, and was co-owner with his brother Frank of DeNauw's Restaurants in Laconia, Concord, Manchester and Nashua from 1969 to 1983. He also owned the Laconia Fish Market with his brother and father. He then worked for the Shock Program for the State of New Hampshire before his retirement in 1988.

He loved golfing fishing and most of all, his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Irene (Lessard) DeNauw, and his sons, Peter of Manchester, Mark of Peoria, Ariz., Michael and wife Lee of Concorod, and daughter Elizabeth Silvestri and husband Richard Silvestri of Belmont and three grandchildren; Dillon Cross of Vt. and Nicholas and Steven Silvestri of Belmont as well as many nieces and nephews.

The memorial service will be held at St. Catharine's of Siena, 207 Hemlock Street, Manchester, NH 03104 (622-4966) off of Webster Street on Sunday, January 24 during the 11 a.m. mass. Reception to follow in the church function hall with food provided by the Olive Garden of Concord. Attendants are asked to R.S.V.P. to jillssrd@yahoo.com or call 622-4757.
