Thomas R. Roys, 75, passed away on Jan. 14, 2026, at Concord Hospital, Concord.

Thomas was born on June 3, 1950, in Boston, Massachusetts, the son of the late Edwin and Caroline (Roulstone) Roys. Tom graduated from Wellesley High School in 1969, where he excelled in gymnastics which he continued until graduating from Plymouth State College 1973.

Every summer of Tom’s life was spent at Camp Idlewild located on Cow Island, Lake Winnipesaukee. The boys’ camp was started by his grandfather, L.D. Roys in 1921, and operated until after the summer of 1975. Tom still had a home on Cow Island, his favorite place to tinker, relax, replace a roof or enjoy seeing a sunset while listening to the loons. Tom was an avid hiker and a very proud member of the 4000-footer club and New England’s hundred highest. He dreamed of finishing the Appalachian Trail and always said, “My trail name would be Piecemeal.”

Tom and his business partner Jim McCormick are owners of Clean Aire Technology located in Belmont.

Tom is survived by his wife Karen (Copp) Roys; sons Mathew and his wife Opal of Gilford, Joshua (Gatlin) and his wife Tatiyana of St. Augustine, Florida; grandchildren Mackenzie and Ethan; a brother, Frederick Roys of Portsmouth; and his sisters, Caroline Roys and Cynthia Bradford of Redwood City, California.

Services will be held in the spring.
