LACONIA — Theresa P. Provencal, 77, of 57 Union Avenue died October 6, 2004 at the St. Francis Home after a period of declining health. Born in Laconia on November 19, 1926, and a life-long resident, she was the youngest of four children of Emile St. Jacques and Anna (Nadeau) St. Jacques.

Mrs. Provencal will be remembered as a sales person and buyer at O’Shea’s Department Store, where she was employed for 38 years until her retirement in 1990.

She graduated from l’Ecole St. Joseph and was a member of the Laconia High School Class of 1944.

Her husband, Arthur Provencal died on October 5, 1977. She was also pre-deceased by a sister, Cecile Kelly, and by twin brothers, Gerard St. Jacques and Rudolphe St. Jacques, the latter for whom she provided a home from 1959 until his death in 1997.

Mrs. Provencal is survived by a nephew, Robert St. Jacques of Laconia; by a niece, Debra Alter of St. Petersburg, Florida; and several cousins.

A calling hour will be held in the Simoneau & Lambert Funeral Home, 139 Church St. Friday from 9 to 10 a.m. followed immediately by a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Ave. Rev. Adrien Longchamps, pastor will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Timothy C. Molan and David L. Furber are the funeral directors.
