GILFORD — It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Susan Coskren Wilhelmy, at her home earlier this month.
Susan was born in 1953 in eastern Massachusetts, daughter of the late Thomas and Dorothea.
As a child, she spent her summers at Lake Shore Park. She had an adventurous spirit and was always exploring new things. She attended Boston College and later moved to Connecticut to raise a family, eventually returning to Lake Winnipesaukee to spend her summers.
After the children had all grown up, she moved to Northern California. But once again, she found herself longing for the lake and returned several years later. Her love of children, dogs, gardening, music, dancing, weather and outdoor sports shaped her life. She was full of laughter and light and will live forever in the hearts and minds of those left behind.
She is survived by her former husband, Robert and their daughters, Kelley and her husband, Bill, Julie, Kate and her husband, Rad, Christie and her husband Herb; and seven grandchildren, Saylor, Marinelle, Ellie, Caroline, Whitney, Herbie and Leonie. She is also survived by her brothers, Dennis, Richard and his wife, Nancy, Michael and his wife, Claire, and their children; and grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Susan is predeceased by her brothers, Daniel and Robert.
A private graveside service will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery in Gilford.
