LACONIA — Russell Anthony Follansbee, 80, of Lafayette Street, passed away on June 20, 2024, with his wife and family by his side.

He was born June 18, 1944, in Meredith, the son of Albert D. and Ethel Monroe (Smith) Follansbee.

He lived in Laconia most of his life and worked as a truck driver, most recently for Belknap Landscaping.

He loved to hunt, fish, play cribbage and made many friends while camping. He was a member of the American Legion. He will be missed by his pets, Button and Patches.

Russell is survived by his loving wife Cynthia Follansbee of Laconia; three sons, Robert Follansbee of Belmont, Russell Follansbee Jr., and his wife Sheryl of Holderness and Peter Follansbee and his wife Heidi of Lakeport; stepson Michael Beaule of Laconia; daughter Holly Remson and her husband John of Meredith; brother Calvin Follansbee and his wife Gail of South Carolina; two sisters Jennie Maheux of Belmont and Esther Ross of Laconia; sisters-in-law, Rita Wetzel, Lorraine Flanders and Pam Johnson all of Laconia, and Jean Beaule of Concord; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Russell is predeceased by his brother David Follansbee.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date when everyone can be together.
