LACONIA — Robin Anne Gelinas, 60, of Laconia, lost her fight with cancer on Jan. 14, 2024. She was with her husband David Gelinas for almost 40 years.

Robin was born in Manchester on Feb. 24, 1963, to the late Anatole and Ethelwyn (Simpson) Michaud. She met the love of her life David in 1984 at their workplace, quickly discovering that they have the same birthday only two years apart, and have been together ever since. She lived most of her life in Londonderry, until eventually settling in Laconia.

Robin had a lifetime of fun and many friends. She loved nature and wildlife, especially red cardinals, and her beloved cat Destiny. She was a good listener on the phone to her friends who needed someone to talk to. After a phone call, she would always lovingly say, “I’m just going to hang up a sign.” Robin worked as a bookkeeper, and a very good one at that. She became a real estate agent after a bad experience of buying a house and decided that she never wanted other people to be treated the way she was. Her father had always said he wanted her to be a nurse, but her family joked that she couldn’t because she would just end up taking the patients home with her.

Robin loved doing Sudoku every morning, and playing cribbage, Yahtzee and cornhole with her husband. To say Robin had the heart of an angel is an understatement. She was truly the kindest person and will be dearly missed by all who came in contact with her. She is now with her mom. Robin, go rest high on that mountain.

Along with David, her husband of 40 years, Robin is survived by her sisters-in-law, Carol Cheiner and her husband Ray, and Mack Beaudet and her husband Ace; brother-in-law Donald Gelinas and his wife Debbie; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She is predeceased by her parents, Anatole and Ethelwyn; brothers-in-law Richard Gelinas, Eddy Gelinas and Andy Gelinas; sister-in-law Irene Gelinas; and her parents-in-law Omer and Eva Gelinas.

As per Robin’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Her family asks that donations in her memory be made to Granite VNA Hospice House, 30 Pillsbury St., Concord, NH 03301, or Payson Center for Cancer Care, 250 Pleasant St., Concord, NH 03301.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of The Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium in Manchester. To view Robin’s online tribute or write in the guestbook, visit phaneuf.net
