ANTRIM — Robert “Bob” P. Jones, 89, of Antrim, passed away peacefully on Jan. 13, 2026, after a brief illness.

Bob was born Aug. 25, 1936, in Henniker. He lived most of his life in Antrim. He also resided in Franklin and Salisbury. Bob grew up and stayed working outdoor jobs. With his hard-working ethics and chainsaw skills he started his own excavation business. R.P. Jones was known for developing Lake Ashuelot Estates in Washington. He brought his expertise to Crowley Land Clearing and S.R. Jones Excavation.

Bob was very social with an outgoing personality. He never met a stranger he could not talk to. He had a quick sense of humor, always fun to be around. He loved his family, dog(s), antique car shows (especially High-Tide), outings, dancing, vacations, and wintering in Florida.

He is survived by his three children, Sharon Howard, Steven (Laurie) Jones and Susan (John) Stalbird; his five stepchildren, Philip (Ginny) Dubia, Michelle (Patrick) Dubia, Natalie (Rick) Libby, John (Becky) Dubia and Valerie (Mike) Rutter; his first wife, Joyce Dunlap; and family friend Kathy Houghton. He was blessed with 21 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

He is predeceased by his wife Regina A. Jones; siblings Evelyn Lemire, Albert Jones, Ruth Bowen and Beatrice Magoon; his son David Jones; parents Rose and Arthur Jones.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 14, at the First Presbyterian Church of Antrim. A celebration of life will follow from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the American Legion Post 59, Hillsboro.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to Antrim Ambulance, P.O. Box 517, Antrim, NH 03440.

Everyone who had the privilege of knowing Robert P. Jones is better off for his presence in their lives.
