LACONIA — Robert H. Wilkinson, 84, 82 Dudley Circle, died at his home on Friday, July 1, 2005. Mr. Wilkinson was born April 22, 1921 in Laconia, the son of Harold I. and Margaret (Bacon) Wilkinson. Mr. Wilkinson was a long time resident of Laconia and attended Laconia High School.
He served in the U.S. Army with the 10th Mountain Division Ski Troops during World War II. Mr. Wilkinson was owner of the Wilkinson Auto Body Shop for twenty-five years, retiring in 1986. In 1986 he moved to Brooksville, Florida and then returned to Laconia in 2002. He enjoyed golf, gardening and woodworking.
Survivors include his wife, Rita (Phillips) Wilkinson, of Laconia; two sons and daughters-in-law, William and Sherri Wilkinson, of Clarksville, Tenn. and Robert and Marjory Wilkinson, of Laconia; six grandchildren, Scott Wilkinson, Sara Staples, Collin Wilkinson, Joy Huggins, Lauren Wilkinson and Ian Wilkinson; six great grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Annis, of Laconia; a brother, William Wilkinson, of Plymouth; and five nieces and eight nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Norma Wilkinson and Virginia Wilkinson Bates.
Memorial Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday July 6, 2005 from 6-8 p.m. using the Carriage House entrance of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia.
A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday July 7, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the family lot in Pine Grove Cemetery, Gilford.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Health & Hospice, Inc., 780 North Main
Street, Laconia, NH 03246.
