Richard J. DeBlois, 73

 

CONCORD — Richard John DeBlois, 73, of Branch Turnpike, Concord, former longtime resident of the Lakes Region, died Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Concord Hospital.

DeBlois was born Dec. 1, 1942, in Laconia, son to the late Willie Joseph and Rose Marie (Gagne) DeBlois. Richard served with the US Air Force in Vietnam. He had worked for Freudenburg-Nok in Northfield for many years as a second shift supervisor and later went to the Manchester location until his retirement in 2005. He was a member of the VFW Post 1631 and the American Legion Post #21, both in Concord.

Richard enjoyed photography, gardening, and genealogy but most of all his grandchildren. He also enjoyed professional sports and attending his grandchildren's games. Above all he loved being with his family.

Richard is survived by his loving partner and wife of 35 years, Nancy Ann (Akerman) DeBlois of Concord, one daughter, Cheryl Pescinski and her husband, Brett of Chichester; two step-children, April Bliss of Chesapeake, Virginia; Charles Gilbert and his wife, Wendy of Alexandria; two granddaughters, Jade and Summer Pescinski, five step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lorraine Parvin of Laconia and Beatrice DeBlois of Belmont; two sisters-in-law, Gertrude DeBlois of Gilford and Paula DeBlois of Vernon Connecticut, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, his is predeceased by his two brothers, Normand and Raymond DeBlois, and a brother-in-law, Paul Parvin.

A calling hour will be from 9 to 10 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial immediately following at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1, at St. Andre Bessette Parish-Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue, Laconia, New Hampshire.

Burial will immediately follow in the family lot at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Laconia.
