GILFORD — Pauline Estelle (Whitehouse) Winslow, 85, died on December 16, 2006, after a long illness.
She was born April 3, 1921, in Haverhill, Mass., the daughter of Benjamin and Ida Mae (Curtis) Whitehouse. She graduated from Haverhill High School in 1939. She married Harland Albert Winslow on November 30, 1939. The Winslows lived in Kingston, for many years, where they raised two sons, Harland Wayne Winslow and Dale Gates Winslow. Mrs. Winslow was active in the Kingston Congregational Church. With her husband, she ran the Edgewood Hotel in Hampton Beach, during the 1960s.
She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and taking trips to Florida in the winter. For many years, she and her husband spent the summers on their boat at the Mountain View Yacht Club in Gilford, on Lake Winnipesauke. The Winslows later moved to Gilford. The couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 1999 with many friends and family members.
Mrs. Winslow was predeceased by her sister, Alvienar O. Batchelder. She leaves her husband, Harland A. Winslow; son Harland Wayne Winslow and his wife Joan (Salo) of New Ipswich; son Dale G. Winslow and his wife Donna (Briggs) of Kingston; grandson Kyle Winslow of Columbus, Ohio; and several nephews and nieces.
A graveside service was held at Pine Grove Cemetery in Kingston on Dec. 21. A memorial service will be held at the Kingston Congregational Church at 11 am on March 24, 2007.
Donations may be made in Pauline Winslow’s name to the Kingston Congregational Church or Community Health and Hospice, 780 North Main St, Laconia, NH.
