Paul Thomas Gilligan, 86, of Indiantown, Florida, passed peacefully on Sept. 9, 2025.

Paul was born on Oct. 5, 1938, in Boston, Massachusetts. He was the second son of the late Joseph E. Gilligan and Margaret (Manning) Gilligan.

He was a proud U.S. Navy and National Guard veteran. His unwavering dedication to his work was a defining aspect of his life.

Paul spent his early years growing up in West Newton, Massachusetts, with his older brother Joe and his younger siblings Jane and Stephen. When he was 15 he met the girl of his dreams, Carol Langill. In 1958, while in the Navy, he and Carol were married. They were deeply in love and inseparable. After the Navy, Paul and Carol moved to New Hampshire to raise their family.

Paul was a skilled construction foreman for over 35 years and owned his own landscaping business for 10 years. He always enjoyed the camaraderie he shared with his fellow workers, creating friendships that would last a lifetime.

At the age of 70, Paul retired and he and Carol moved to Florida to enjoy their golden years. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend, and he will be greatly missed by all.

Paul is survived by his daughters, Diane Ricciardiello and her husband Louis of Gilford, and Linda Fournier and her husband Steven of Waltham, Massachusetts; his sister Jane Quinn and her husband Donald of West Newton, Massachusetts; his sister-in-law Elizabeth Gillligan of Laurel, Maryland; his five grandchildren, Portia Magdziasz, Kelly Przekaza, Michael Fournier, Stevie Larrere and Michelle Murphy; his seven great-grandchildren, Natalee, Henry, Quinn, Penny, Chloe, Kennedy and Kollins; and his beloved dog, Howie. He also leaves his nieces and nephews in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maryland and Washington, D.C.

Paul was predeceased by his wife Carol, his brother Joseph Gilligan and his brother Stephen Gilligan.

The Gilligan family would like to express their gratitude to the Granite VNA services and Wanda Christadore for their assistance in caring for Paul.

Paul will be laid to rest in the NH Veterans Cemetery alongside his wife, Carol, in Boscawen.
