Paul E. Fortin Jr., 70

GILMANTON — Paul E. Fortin Jr., 70, died Wednesday, February 16, 2022 after an eight-year battle with cancer.

Paul was born September 25, 1951 in Laconia to the late Paul and Pauline (Sinclair) Fortin.

He graduated from Laconia High School in 1969. He served in the USAF from 1971-1975 and was deployed to Europe.

When he returned home he began building homes with his dad, Fortin and Sons. After his dad passed in 1994, he continued home construction with N.W. Morrisette and then worked for Kevin and Peter Morrisette. Over his time working for the Morrisettes, he built 100s of homes in the Lakes Region area. He loved establishing relationships with every home owner.

He was a lifetime member of the Rod and Gun Club. He loved antiques and learning the history of his finds.

Paul leaves behind his wife, Karen (Sabbow) Fortin; daughter, Carey McGowan, Pembroke; brothers, Jay Fortin, Scotrun, PA, and John Fortin, Center Sandwich; and his sisters, Gloria Fortin-Jones, Wells, ME, June Smith, Okeechobee, FL, and Sandra Smith, Ft. Worth, TX.

Calling Hours will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2020 from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. in the Carriage House at Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.

A Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Carriage House.

Burial will be in the spring at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.
