BELMONT — Normand Henry McKeown, 92, of Farrarville Road, passed away at his home on June 5, 2025.

Normand was born on Jan. 30, 1933, in St. John, Quebec, Canada, the son of Patrick and Amelia (Chevarie) McKeown.

He worked for a paper mill and car wash business in Lincoln, as well as Belknap Tire and at a tannery. Normand was a boxer, better known as Candlelight Kid, “One blow and his opponent was lights out.”

Normand is survived by his beloved wife Anita (Bolduc) McKeown and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Normand was predeceased by his brother Tom McKeown and sisters Margaret, Jacqueline, Jeanne and Marie.

There will be no calling hours.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 12, at St. Joseph Parish, 96 Main St.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations in Normand’s name be made to Bolduc Park Association, 282 Gilford Ave., Gilford, NH 03249, or to Franklin VNA & Hospice, 75 Chestnut St., Franklin, NH 03235.
