LACONIA — Marleen Ann Layne, 56, died June 28, 2025, at Concord Hospital in Laconia.
She was born Sept. 25, 1968, in Brockton, Massachusetts, to William McDonald and Kathleen (McNeil) Wass.
Marleen is survived by her parents and stepmother Marge McDonald, sons Austin Brue and Garrett Brue, daughters Jamie Antelmi and Mickayla, all of Laconia; brothers William McDonald and his husband Roberto Villegas of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and Thomas McDonald of Belmont; sister Kathleen Foley and her husband Michael of Laconia; grandchildren Carter, Eli, Layla and Malik; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Joey Cantin.
At this time there will be no services.
They say, "With death comes new life." In Marleen’s death, two other lives were given a chance with the donation of her liver and kidneys. The family would like to extend a big heartfelt thank you to the staff at Beth Israel Hospital of Boston for taking care of Marleen and giving two other wonderful people a new life.
