Lucille R. Smith, 86
LACONIA — Lucille R. Smith, 86, of 11 Prospect St., Dover, and formerly of Laconia and Englewood, Fla., died at her home on Friday, June 20, 2014. Mrs. Smith was the widow of Robert E. Smith who died in 2003.
Mrs. Smith was born Jan. 12, 1928, in Laconia, the daughter of the late Wilfred and Yvonne (Lacroix) Garneau. She was a longtime resident of the Laconia area before moving to Florida. She had been self-employed as a hairdresser for 35 years and was a teller at the Laconia Peoples National Bank & Trust Company for 10 years before, retiring in 1982.
Mrs. Smith was a communicant of St. Joseph Church and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed golf, camping and bowling.
Survivors include three sons, Robert E. Smith Jr. and his wife, Janet, of Dover, Randall J. Smith and his wife, Pam, of Matthews, N.C., and Jeffrey S. Smith and his partner, Tony, of Rehoboth Beach, Del.; two daughters, Deborah Smith Newell and her husband, David, of Concord, and Linda J. Smith and her partner, Claudia, of Erie, Pa.; four grandchildren, Amanda Lessard, Samantha Smith, Bradley Smith and Abigail Smith and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Smith was predeceased by her brothers, Ronald Garneau, Robert Garneau and Raymond Garneau and by a sister, Nancy Wade Marcoux.
A calling hour will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2014, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, following the calling hour, at 11 a.m. at St. Andre Bessette Parish at St. Joseph Church, 30 Church St., Laconia. Burial will follow in the family lot in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Laconia.
For those who wish, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, 10 Speen St., Second Floor, Framingham, Mass. 01701.
