GILFORD — Katharine “Kati” Elizabeth Delude, 35, of Cotton Hill Road, was called home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sept. 24, 2024, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, following an extended illness and hospitalization.
Katharine was born on March 25, 1989, in Dover, the daughter of Joseph F. Delude III (formerly of Rochester) and Medora L. Matoska (formerly of Lebanon).
Kati was an outgoing, active child who enjoyed being with friends and her beloved pets — cats, dogs, bunnies, and a horse named Yogi. She competed in New Hampshire Hunter Jumper and she looked forward to taking the school bus to White Oaks Farm daily to assist in the care of nearly 40 horses. She also played Little League baseball in Laconia and she was a Girl Scout for many years. Beginning at age 2, Kati loved to ski with family and friends; she looked forward to family camping trips, with moose-looking, fishing, and sitting around the campfire. She was a beautiful, happy girl — sweet, kind, and bold.
Kati was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and always proudly supported our troops and the USA. She was a parishioner of St. Andre Bessette Parish, having attended CCD at Our Lady of the Lakes, and receiving all appropriate sacraments. Katharine knew that she was a beloved daughter of God and on her deathbed, the hospital priest administered the last rites.
Kati graduated from Laconia High School and attended Lakes Region Community College for two years. She worked in various fields over the past two decades, with the highlights being customer service at Bank of New Hampshire, retail sales at Harley-Davidson, and as a pharmacy technician at CVS.
Katharine is survived by her loving mother Medora Matoska, with whom she lived before her untimely death; half-sisters Jessica Delude, of Mexico, Maine, and Jami Delude-Williams, of Snow Hill, North Carolina; stepfather Mike Coyne, of Laconia, step-brothers Benjamin Coyne and Jimmy Coyne, of Shapleigh, Maine, and Eric Lanigan, of Gilford, with whom she had a long-term relationship; also, many aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as nieces and nephews. Katharine is predeceased by her dear father Joseph Delude III; and grandparents, Joyce and Stephen Matoska, of Lebanon, Joseph Delude II, of Rochester, Jenny Delude, of West Newbury, Massachusetts, and Arlene Coyne, of Farmington. She also unselfishly entrusted a baby boy to a loving family in Massachusetts. Philip Christopher is now 11 years old.
There will be no calling hours prior to the Funeral Mass.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., on Thursday, Oct. 3, at the St. Andre Bessette Parish - Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Ave., Laconia.
The rite of committal will follow, with burial, at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Garfield Street, Laconia; and a funeral repast will ensue from noon to 4 p.m. at the Laconia Rod & Gun Club.
Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home & Cremation Services/603Cremations.com, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia, is assisting the family with the arrangements. For more information and to view an online memorial, visit wilkinsonbeane.com.
