It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Karen Kristine Bellinger, aged 77, who left us suddenly on Aug. 15, 2026, in her hometown of Tilton.
Born on June 14, 1949, Karen dedicated her life to serving others, significantly impacting the healthcare field as a candy striper at Pine Knoll Nursing Center.
In addition to her vital role in healthcare, Karen contributed her skills as an assembler at C-Tech and worked tirelessly at Goodwill, making a difference in the lives of those around her. A beloved member of her community, she formed many lasting friendships at the Tilton Senior Center, where her warmth and kindness were felt by all.
Karen is survived by her cousins Jonathan Scanlon of Cave Creek, Arizona, and Gene Scanlon of Boca Raton, Florida; and her cherished nephew Ryan Scanlon and her niece Jennifer McCallister. She will be deeply missed by her second family who knew her as a beacon of joy and compassion, Marilyn Jannsen of Woburn, Massachusetts, and her siblings Jill and Eric Jannsen of Arlington, Massachusetts.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mable (Ball) Bellinger.
Visiting hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12, at the Smart Memorial Home, 584 W. Main St., Tilton.
