BELMONT — Jane Morrissey Pratt of New Hampshire passed away on Oct. 28, 2026.
Born to William and Dorothy Morrissey of Hooksett, she attended Central High School in Manchester, where she met her high school sweetheart, John Sullivan Pratt. Their first date was Nov. 21, 1963, beginning a love story that spanned more than six decades. They married on July 19, 1969, and raised three children in Canterbury, sharing 57 years of marriage filled with love, belly laughs, and knowing side-eyes. To John, she was always Janey.
Jane earned degrees from the University of New Hampshire and Lesley University and devoted her career to teaching, including fifth and sixth grades at Canterbury and Belmont elementary schools. She believed deeply in education and encouraged her students and children to think independently and reach their potential.
Fiercely independent, outspoken, and quick-witted, Jane loved family dinners, travel, reading, cooking, baking, shopping, and time with lifelong friends. Her grandchildren, Julia, Willa and Colton, were among her greatest joys. To them, she was Grammy, their unwavering source of love and encouragement.
Jane is survived by John; children Kerry, Rebecca and Ben and their spouses; grandchildren Julia, Willa and Colton; and brother Brian Morrissey. She was predeceased by her parents.
Visitation will be Monday, Nov. 2, in the Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St., Concord.
