James "Jamie" R. Ward III of Franklin, passed away on Aug. 8, 2024, at his home surrounded by loved ones after a long courageous battle with cancer.Â
James was born on Sept. 17, 1971, in Franklin, where he resided most of his life. He graduated from high school in 1990. After working briefly for a couple of factories he found his work niche in carpentry.Â
James was blessed with a bright mind, a great smile, and an amazing sense of humor. He loved his family, friends and home. The garage was James’ favorite space where he utilized his great skills of organizing, fixing and repairing, and even creating all things to do with wheels, motors and paint.
James was known as a helper and was always eager to lend a hand. He enjoyed fishing, yardwork, home repairing, his pets. James especially loved his friends. He had a small group of friends he held close to his heart. As true friends do, they were able to "be there" for James, bolstering him to the end.Â
James is survived by his mother, Karen (Rayno) Ward of Franklin; his father, James R. Ward Jr. of New Hampton; his brother, Michael Ward of Franklin; as well as several aunts, cousins, nieces and great-nieces and nephews.Â
There will be no funeral or memorial service, as was James’ wish. A simple cremation will be performed with a scattering of ashes at a later time.
