Irma R. Cohen, 79
MEREDITH — Irma Rae (Freedman) Cohen, of Meredith, entered into rest on Feb. 8, 2017. She was 79 years old.
She was the beloved wife of the late Marvin Cohen, devoted mother of Jayne Cohen and her husband Wayne Giles, and David Cohen and his wife Deborah, loving sister of Judy Freedman, sister-in-law of Judith Davidson, and cherished grandmother of Jordan and Shelby.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Feb. 12, at noon in the chapel at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham St., Sharon, Massachusetts. Interment will follow the service. Memorial observance will be held at the home of David and Deborah Cohen on Sunday following the interment, and Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
In memory of Irma Cohen, her children have established a "Chair Fund" at Golden View Health Care Center in Meredith. The money received will purchase automated lift chairs for residents, patients and visitors. These automated chairs have many advantages. For example, the chairs elicit a feeling of independence for rehab patients and residents needing assistance getting up and down, while also providing comfort for visitors who want to recline on the long days with loved ones. It is our hope to raise enough money to purchase several chairs in Irma's memory so that all rooms will have these chairs. Thank you for being a part of providing a tremendous benefit and comfort to residents, patients, and visitors in our community.
Donations may be sent to the Irma Cohen Chair Fund, c/o Golden View Health Care Center, 19 Route 104, Meredith, NH 03253. Please make the check payable to Golden View Health Care Center.
