George "Joe" Daigneault, 90, passed away at home with his family by his side.
Joe was born on Oct. 30, 1933, in Franklin, the son of Frank and Irene (Morin) Daigneault. He was a graduate of Franklin High School class of 1951.
He married his high school sweetheart in 1954; they would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in March.
Joe was an Army veteran and served from 1954-1956, receiving an honorable discharge.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Gabriel Council 11868.
His working career began at Merrimack Farmers Exchange, first in Nashua and ending in Franklin as the store manager, after 17 years. He then began a 20-year career with Prescott Lumber/Gerrity Lumber as their purchasing agent.
Joe enjoyed carpentry and woodworking, always having a project on the work bench.
He is survived by his wife Madeline; twin daughters Diane Williams and husband Mark of Franklin, and Donna McDonald and husband John of Potter Place. He also leaves one grandson, Craig Williams, and wife Shannon and two great grandsons, Spencer and Colin, all of Lunenburg, Massachusetts, and numerous cousins of New Hampshire and Canada.
As per Joe's wishes, there are no services planned at this time. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to The Franklin Visiting Nurse, 75 Chestnut St., Franklin, NH, or to Immaculate Conception Church, 724 Main St., New London, NH.
Thibault-Neun Funeral Home in Franklin is assisting Joe’s family with arrangements and an online guestbook is opened at neunfuneralhomes.com.
