LACONIA — Edna (née Bruce) Schroeder, 81, of Laconia, died on Feb. 12, 2025, at the Taylor Community.
Born on Dec. 28, 1943, Edna was the daughter of the late Edward and Florence (née Gardner) Bruce. Edna married the love of her life, Frederick E. Schroeder. Edna attended Manchester High School West and obtained her associate's degree from Bentley College of Accounting and Finance. She took great pride in her work and very much enjoyed working in the library of the Moultonborough Public Schools.Â
Edna dedicated her life to her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and loved playing games with her family. She was also a highly religious woman. She was committed to her faith and was heavily involved with her church community. She loved Christmas and had a special interest in manger scenes, one made by her mother was particularly special to her. Edna also enjoyed spending time at the lake and loved animals, especially her dogs. In the summer, Edna spent long days at the Moultonborough Town Beach with friends and family.
Edna is survived by her three sons, Evan and his former wife Kelly, Eric, and Michael and his wife Bethany. She is also survived by her siblings, Leah Bruce, William (Norma) Bruce, and Marcia (Paul) LaBelle; five grandchildren, Samantha, Alicia, Peyton (MacKenzie), Kayla and William; six great-grandchildren; and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her loving husband, Frederick; and her brother, David Bruce.Â
A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 26, at Calvary Bible Church, 6 Saint James St., Meredith.
