LACONIA — Douglas Spencer Wentworth, 73, of Darby Drive, passed away on Feb. 25, 2026, at Belknap County Nursing Home in Laconia.
Douglas was born on June 24, 1952, in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of the late Crawford Wentworth and Doris (Heller) Wentworth.
Douglas enjoyed boating on Lake Winnipesaukee and coaching Laconia Little League and Pop Warner football. He was an avid fan of NASCAR and Boston sports teams, especially the New England Patriots.
Douglas worked as a mechanic at Manter’s, Woodward’s, and Fitzgerald Dodge before retiring into his second career as a cab driver for Mr. C’s Taxi.
His family will always remember his giant cannonballs in their pools, along with his quick one-liners and sarcastic sense of humor. Douglas will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his sons, Keith Wentworth and his wife Stephanie, and Scott Wentworth and his wife Heather; his grandchildren, Rhys Wentworth, Warner Wentworth, Ellery Wentworth, and Lindy Wentworth; his sister, Sally Wool and her husband Alan; his niece, Amy Kettell; and his nephew, Jason Wool.
There will be no calling hours.
