Douglas Earl Stoddard, known to most as Doug, passed away from a brief illness on Feb. 24, 2026.

He was born to Sidney Gray Stoddard and Barbara Eva Whitehouse in Laconia, on Sept. 28, 1949. He had one older brother, Ronald Stoddard, who, along with his parents, predeceased him.

Doug graduated from Winnisquam Regional High School in 1968. He worked at Watts Regulator for over 20 years and retired in 2012. Doug lived in Franklin, most of his life with his wife of 50 years. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to tease and joke with others. He enjoyed being outdoors, playing cribbage, frisbee, sports, puzzles, and taking care of the many dogs he had throughout his life. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He was a kindhearted, selfless, hardworking man and he will be severely missed.

He is survived by his wife, Susan (Joyce) Stoddard; his two sons, Jason Stoddard and Michael Stoddard; his daughter, Michelle Taylor with spouse Nathaniel Taylor and granddaughter Trinity Taylor; and his niece, Christine Acevedo with spouse Frank Acevedo.
