TAMPA, Fla. — Donna Powers, 85, died Dec. 13th, 2014 after a period of declining health, with family members at her side.
She was born on Sept 3, 1929 in Telsiai, Lithuania to Ciprijonas and Eugenia Malisauskas.
She left Lithuania during WWII with her parents, eventually immigrating to the US and residing in Dorchester, Mass. for many years. She moved to central N.H. in the early 1970s, where she lived until 1989. She spent her remaining years in Altoona and Tampa, Florida.
In her youth, Donna worked at a Boston hospital as a nurse's aide in the maternity ward. She enjoyed dancing, music, playing the piano, gardening and cooking.
Her survivors include a son, Richard Sanda II and his wife Catherine of Dorchester, Mass., four daughters, Debbie Smith of Maryville, Tenn., Lorna Lorenzini and her husband Russ of Monroe, Wash., Maureen Bolstridge and her husband David of Tilton, N.H., Andrea Murley and her husband Scott of Temple Terrace, Fla., sixteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Donna will be remembered for her courage, strength, open-mindedness, and sense of humor. She was an inspiration to everyone she knew.
Calling hours will be held on Monday December 22, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Wendell J. Butt Funeral Home 42 Washington Street Penacook, NH 03303. Funeral Services will immediately follow in the funeral home at noon and committal services will take place in Calvary Cemetery in Penacook.
