WOLFEBORO — David Laurence Hill, 84, stepfather, grandfather, great-grandfather and cousin, died Oct. 28, 2025, at the Genesis Laconia Rehabilitation Center.

He was born in Darby, Pennsylvania, to Richard and Elizabeth (née Smith) Hill. The family moved to Reading, Massachusetts, for David’s early years and weekends at a cottage on Lake Wentworth in Wolfeboro.

David attended New Hampton School for high school. He was in the U.S. Air Force from 1965 through 1971, where he served in Vietnam. David attended Marietta College for his bachelor’s degree and Merrimack College for computer programming. He retired from Brockway Smith, a door, window and millwork company in Andover, Massachusetts, where he worked as a computer programmer.

In 1983, he married Laura (Brewer) Occhipinti. David and Laura both had a love of New Hampshire and travel. They designed several homes during their marriage of 40 years. Their first was in Chester, where they lived until retirement. The second was on Newfound Lake. Their third home was built on Lake Wentworth in Wolfeboro, replacing the family cottage with a year-round home where David enjoyed his final years.

He is survived by his stepchildren, Pamela (née Mackay) Geronimos, Scott Mackay, Deborah (née Mackay) Blair, Stephen Mackay (Ellen) and Sandra Mackay, and their families, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his cousins.
