LACONIA — Daryl Lee Twombly, 82, of Nature View Drive, passed away on Feb. 11, 2026, at St. Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Laconia.
Daryl was born on June 17, 1943, in Haverhill, the son of the late Fred Lee Twombly and Thea Mae (Elder) Twombly.
Daryl graduated from Laconia High School in 1961. After high school, he honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force for four years, during which he worked on missile guidance systems. His service included a tour in Okinawa, Japan, during the Vietnam War. Daryl worked for Browning Labs, where he met the love of his life, Ann. He retired from the Molex Corporation in 2006 and later worked at VuTek in Meredith, for several years.
Daryl was a member of the Opechee Park Association and served as a Boy Scout leader for Troop 68 for many years.
Daryl’s technical acumen was developed early on by helping his father in the television repair business and further refined by his military service. This unique background helped him become the highly knowledgeable IT technician that friends and family relied on for any technical help.
In his community, Daryl was a dedicated volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul, serving as the facilities manager. He put his technical skills to good use by fixing electronic gadgets, ensuring they were usable and ready for sale in the store.
He enjoyed gardening, kayaking, camping, visiting the ocean, and the White Mountains. Together, Ann and Daryl traveled to the U.S. National Parks, Iceland, and toured several countries in Europe.
Daryl found his faith later in life and was very proud to join the Catholic church.
The family extends deep gratitude to the staff at the St. Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for their compassionate care during Daryl’s final months.
Daryl is survived by his loving wife Ann (Bissonnette) Twombly of Laconia; daughter Cheryl Swett and her husband Michael of Northwood; son Matthew Twombly and his wife Kelley of Oxford, Massachusetts; sisters Shirley Currier and her husband Peter of Northfield, and Louise Tardiff and her husband Gary of Eliot, Maine; sister-in-law Judy Bissonnette of Bridgewater;Â grandchildren Olivia Swett, Matthew Twombly Jr. and Kyle Twombly; and nieces Susan Vincent, Shelley Wright and Jessica MacKay.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., on Friday, Feb. 20, also at the church.
A graveside service with military honors will be held in the spring at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Hwy, Boscawen.
